See it in action

In the mobile app, a support worker opens a conversation from Messages, types a reply and sends it; it shows as sending, then with a tick once sent.
  1. Go to Messages and find the conversation you want. Starting a new one and adding attachments are separate tasks.

Good to know

Messages is for talking to colleagues without leaving the system, so the conversation sits alongside the work it is about. This walkthrough opens a conversation, sends a message, and replies to a specific message in it.

A few things worth knowing before you start. Enter sends; the paperclip attaches a photo, a video or a document (images and videos preview in the thread, everything else arrives as a download). Typing @ offers the people in the conversation, and a Notify everyone option that reaches all of them. A tick means your message was sent, and once someone opens it their picture appears beside it — that is the read receipt. Anything you type and do not send is kept as a draft and is still there when you come back to that conversation. The draft lives in that browser, so it will not follow you to another device or survive clearing site data.

What it does

  • Start a conversation with anyone you are allowed to contact in your organisation.
  • Filter your conversations by name, by the people in them or by the last thing said.
  • Reply to a particular message so it is posted under a quote of the original.
  • Mention a colleague with @, react to a message, and edit or delete what you sent.
  • Pin important messages, mute a conversation, or mark it unread to come back to later.
